Helloooo, I’m Mia! I was born on the 4th of June 2002 in a massive hail storm! I was raised from birth in a small town 4 hours out of Perth named Southern Cross and grew up there until the age of 11 with Mum, Dad and my older brother! I’ve been a Personal Trainer for almost 3 years and absolutely love it!

I run a small woman’s only gym named AIM ACTIVE (yes, aim is Mia backwards) to help women achieve their health and fitness goals in a private space! Providing 1:1 pt sessions, small group classes and nutrition advice.

I love the gym, especially glute day and have recently gotten in to running! I have 2 fur babies Coco and Penny who are slightly overweight chocolate Labradors. Im a sucker for iced dirty chais, anything peanut butter flavoured and margaritas! I also love travel and adventure and love a cheeky 4WD. I have a small shopping addiction especially for activewear and shoes. Im vegetarian and gluten free and love being in the kitchen. Im also abit of an over organiser with the show the home edit on repeat! I also am a massive ABBA advocate.

What's something quirky about you that you love?
I have to pat absolutely every single dog I see.

Give us a synopsis of your career?
Little 17 year old Mia fresh out of high school started at Fit College Feb 2020. I studied full-time for 4 months to complete my personal training course and straight into my first job as a PT all before the age of 18. I worked at a couple of different F45s for a couple of months gaining some confidence in the job and making some connections. I than started working at a small group fitness gym September 2020 which is where my boss at the time taught me everything she knew about personal training and how to be a good one! I was working there along with a local F45 where one very quiet night I met my mentor! My mentor and I met up multiple times and she encouraged me to open my own space to help women myself! It was something I had aways thought of doing but never had the confidence to do! With the help of my amazing mentor and family July 2021 I opened the doors to my own business Aim Active. I had since quit F45 and sadly Jan 2022 the other gym I was working at was closed down and I have been working for myself at aim active ever since and haven’t looked back, growing and improving it everyday. Helping likeminded woman gain the confidence and knowledge in a private gym setting! During that time I also completed my Cert VI in Nutrition to be able to give my clients the best support possible!

Do you have any secret skills?
I can organise anything and everything!

What are some significant moments that shaped who you are today?
Moving from a small country town with 40 kids in the whole school to a big city not really knowing anyone.

Opening my own business at the age of 18 having absolutely no idea what I was doing but doing it anyway!

Supporting my partner through one of the most challenging times of his life loosing his mum but it taught me hold my loved ones close and appreciate every day!

What are you most proud of?
Achieving the things I have at such a young age! 17 year old Mia never would have dreamed of the things 20 year old Mia has. From opening my own business, buying my own first car outright, traveling international and getting to see amazing things! Im also proud of my mindset, how its evolved and learnt to handle situations and have the confidence in myself.

Where would we find you on a Sunday morning?
Sunday mornings are slow sleep in mornings, they normally always consist of coffee, pancakes and walks with my fur babies, Coco and Penny & partner Zane.

What is success to you?
Many different things!! I have alot of professional athletes in my family from AFL players to Olympic athletes so to me that’s successful! But i also see success as helping and having a positive impact on as many peoples lives as possible and just being happy in your own skin!

On a rough day, how do you turn it around?
On rough days I love to go for a walk to get coffee and buy myself flowers. I also find cleaning my space and listening to what my body needs helps too!

What are you most grateful for?
Many, Many things!! Mostly my family and my partner for always being incredibly supportive and for my health!

What's something you're working on yourself at the moment?
Im always looking to grow and expand the business. Making it stand out and have the opportunity to help as many woman as possible. Im looking to study some more this year and grow my own knowledge!

Someone who you can sit with in silence for hours and not feel awkward!

How do you deal with the tough patches in life?
Being close with loved ones and keeping as much of a routine as possible, In my routine are things that make me happy and bring me joy like going to the gym and little things like getting coffee so they help me to feel batter.

Also listening to what my body needs whether it be rest or something else helps.

What piece of advice would you like to share with those wanting to chase their big dreams at a young age?
Just go for it! What’s the worst that will happen? You might fail but you also might not and id 100x over rather try and fail than never try because your scared to fail but you never know if you don’t try!!

And its not and NEVER will be bad or embarrassing to ask for help! People want to help others so just ask!

How has coaching/mentoring helped you?
In more ways than one! Without coaching I never would have had to confidence to start my business and continue to grow it. It’s been amazing to have someone to bounce ideas off and get second opinions on things. Its also helped me with my personal self confidence and made me realised I’m capable of ore than I think.

Starting your own business can be quite daunting. What do you think prepared you for it?
Definantly having the help and support from the people around me. My mentor was amazing at helping me organise things I didn’t know I needed!

When and why did you decide to launch your business? Was there a particular moment?
I think I always knew I wanted to own my own business. I wanted it to help women be confident and teach them about their bodies and educate them on things that should be taught but aren’t!

What have been some of the challenges?
Social media and keeping up on promoting the business, despite being a 20 year old social media is not my strong point but I have some amazing friends that help me out!

What have been some of the rewards or highlights?
Seeing all the girls get along and support each other, they are their own hype girls!! Just creating a community that genuinely cares about each other and want to help you and see you succeed!

How do you hope people will benefit from you doing your thing
I hope they gain confidence in themselves and see that its possible to do things even if you’re young!
