How to find the answer when you feel stuck!

Sometimes, the questions ARE the answer…

Ever find yourself feeling a little stuck? Or trying to work through something but the answer just never seems to present itself?

It’s actually quite common, so you are not alone.

I personally find questions super useful in these situations.  If I feel like I can’t move forward with something or my mind keeps spinning around the same information like a broken record, I find more often than not that asking the right question is the answer. Sometimes that’s all I need to get a fresh perspective on it and move forward.

Here are some of my go-to’s if I’m feeling a little stuck, swaying on a decision and being indecisive or if there seems to be a bit of overwhelm lingering a little longer than feels useful.

  • Are you holding on to something you need to let go of?

  • In the rush of daily life, what are you not seeing?

  • What has the little voice in your head been saying lately?

  • How do you know whether to keep holding on or if it’s time to let go?

  • What fear is holding you back?

  • Is it out of reach, or have you just not stretched yourself far enough?

  • What do you do with the majority of your money?

  • Besides money, what else have you gained from your current job?

  • Based on your current daily actions, habits and routines, where would you expect to be in 5 years?

  • If you haven’t achieved it yet, what have you got to lose?

  • What do you sometimes pretend to understand that you really don’t?

  • What are you procrastinating about?

  • What have you given up on?

  • What mistakes do you make over and over again?

  • What has been draining your energy?

  • How short would your life have to be to start living it differently today?

I find that if I sit with a question for awhile, more often than not the answer comes to me. Sometimes I start with the question at the top of a page and just write whatever comes into my mind. Other times, I’ll ask myself the question and go for a long walk and let my mind explore it. And there are times where it takes a bit longer and I end up sitting with a question for a week or more and just notice what comes up. But sometimes, just asking a question is enough to flip the perspective and move forward straight away.

Give it a try! What have you got to lose?

When the question is asked then the answer is heard.
